About the Presenter
Dr. James Patterson is an associate professor and chair of the politics department at Ave Maria University, with degrees from the University of Houston and the University of Virginia. He is also a fellow at the Center for Religion, Culture, and Democracy and the Institute of Human Ecology at Catholic University of America. As president of the Ciceronian Society and a contributing editor to “Law & Liberty,” his research focuses on religion, race, and American political development. He published “Religion in the Public Square: Sheen, King, Falwell” in 2019 and has contributed to various scholarly and popular publications. Dr. Patterson previously held positions at Duke, Princeton, Gettysburg College, and Hampden-Sydney College. He resides in Ave Maria, Florida, with his wife and four children.
